Greenville, S.C.  (December 18, 2018): The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) is pleased to announce the selection of four board members to their 2019 officer positions.

 

Jack Altman was selected by the CDS Board of Directors to be the Board Chair for 2019. He is Vice President of Accounting with Pacolet Milliken Enterprises, and has served on the board for four years.

Jason Vaughn was selected as the Vice-Chair for 2019. Jason is the Southeast Regional Development Director for Agracel, Inc. and is a recent graduate of Leadership SC as well as a member of Leadership Greenville Class #42.

 

Kelly Smith has been elected Treasurer for a second term. She is a CPA and Audit Manager at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP.

Augustus Dicks was elected as Secretary. He is a Finance Manager at Fluor Corporation and became involved at CDS through their 2017 Golf for Greenville charity event.

CDS Celebrates the Holidays

    

Greenville, S.C.  (December 14, 2018):  The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) celebrated its annual “Holiday Events” week from Tuesday, December 11th through Thursday, December 13th. CDS hosted arts and crafts, a holiday movie and popcorn day, and offered toys to children with special medical and developmental needs.

These events were made possible by Molina Healthcare, the Woodworkers Guild of Greenville, and Athleta. CDS is thankful for their continued support and community involvement.

CDS Receives $17,000 from Ned Marshall Memorial Golf Tournament

Greenville, S.C.  (November 29, 2018):  The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) received $17,000 from the Ned Marshall Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by AC Controls. Ned Marshall was a beloved employee of AC Controls for 30 years and served the Upstate region of SC. Ned had a passion for helping children, so CDS was selected to honor his legacy.

The tournament raised funds through sponsorships, teams, a silent auction, and donations. All proceeds raised will go towards general program support for the families and children served by CDS and its partners.

The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) will host their 7th annual Eggs Benefit on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at The Poinsett Club in Downtown Greenville. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 am and the program will begin at 8:00 am. A reservation is required to attend.

Ned Marshall Memorial Golf Tournament to Benefit CDS

Greenville, S.C. (August 21, 2018):  The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) has been chosen as the beneficiary for the 2nd Annual Ned Marshall Memorial Golf Tournament presented by AC Controls. The event is set to take place on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, SC.

Ned Marshall was a beloved employee of AC Controls for 30 years and served the Upstate. Ned had a passion for helping children, and CDS was chosen as the beneficiary of the tournament to honor his legacy. Last year the event raised over $13,000 through sponsorships, teams, and donations. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit more than 7,600 children with developmental delays and disabilities who receive services at CDS each year.

Greenville, S.C. (July 18, 2018):  The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) recently celebrated 18 years of serving the Upstate. Local heroes and celebrities visited throughout the week of July 9th-13th in honor of the event. Volunteers helped with face-painting, games, and art projects. The Greenville Fire Department, Greenville Police Department, and Buddy the Bear from the Children’s Hospital of the Greenville Health System spent time with families and children to help CDS celebrate this milestone.

With the Upstate community’s continued support, CDS served more than 7,600 children with learning delays and disabilities in 2017.

Greenville, S.C. (July 12, 2018):  Blue Ridge Electric employees Jay Bagwell, Chad Davidson, and Jessica Stone presented a check for $17,000 from the 21st annual Blue Ridge Fest to Center for Developmental Services. Accepting the check on behalf of the organization is Executive Director, Dana McConnell, Director of Development, Joy Blue along with parents and children from Developmental Services. Also in attendance were Blue Ridge Fest sponsors Tony Cvetko of Integral Solutions Group, Andy Pickens of Andy Pickens Design, Elise Nichols of the Hughes Agency, Lee Alexander of 103.3/95.9 EARTH-FM, and Cathy Tabor of Salem Media Group.

Blue Ridge Fest attracted nearly 6,000 attendees and more than 400 classic cars from across the Southeast to benefit twelve local charities in the cooperative’s four-county service area. Since the inception of Blue Ridge Fest, the event has raised nearly $2.8 million for Upstate charitable organizations.

CDS Announces Outshine Summer Reading Program

Greenville, S.C. (June 18, 2018):  The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) would like to invite Upstate families to participate in their Outshine Summer Reading Program. CDS staff and volunteers will read with children to keep them academically engaged and staying on track for the summer. The reading program meets at CDS on Wednesdays from 12:30pm-2:00pm beginning June 20th and ending August 8th.

The Greenville County Schools Food and Nutrition Services Summer Meals Program will also be at CDS every Wednesday from 11:45am-12:15pm this summer offering free meals to all school aged children.
