You may have heard our building is on the market, or seen a “For Sale” sign out front, and you’re probably curious about what’s happening.

The property on which CDS is located is currently for sale. However, at this time, there is no need to worry! We intend to remain in the building at least through 2029, and we are planning thoughtfully for the future and will keep our community informed every step of the way.

We understand that you may have questions about the future of the Center for Developmental Services (CDS). We want to assure our families, partners, donors, and community that while our building is for sale, our mission and our partnership remain as strong as ever.

Is CDS closing?

No. CDS is not closing. Our partners remain fully committed to providing the high-quality services that children and families depend on every day.

Will services continue?

Yes. All services provided by our CDS partners will continue without interruption. Families should continue attending appointments as scheduled.

Are you moving?

Our current lease allows us to remain in our existing location through the end of 2029. While we anticipate relocating in the future, no immediate changes are taking place.

Will the CDS partnership stay together?

That is our goal. Our partners are working together with a shared commitment to preserving the collaborative model that has made CDS so successful for more than 26 years. We believe children and families are best served when providers work together, and we are actively planning for a future that keeps that partnership strong.

What happens next?

A planning committee representing the CDS partnership has been established to guide this process. The committee is evaluating future options with the goal of ensuring long-term stability for the families we serve.

How will families and the community be informed?

We are committed to being transparent throughout this process. As decisions are made, we will communicate openly and in a timely manner with our families, staff, partners, donors, and the community.

What should I do now?

At this time, there is nothing you need to do. Please continue to visit CDS as usual and keep your scheduled appointments. If future changes affect you, we will provide clear information well in advance.

Our Commitment

For more than 26 years, the Center for Developmental Services has brought together organizations that share one mission: helping children with developmental delays and disabilities receive the care and support they need. That mission has not changed.

While our address may change in the future, our commitment to children, families, and our community remains exactly the same.
