Letter from the Executive Director

Happy New Year!

All of us at CDS thank the many volunteers, parents, donors, community partners, businesses, and foundations that helped us make 2011 a success! 

As CDS begins the New Year, we are excited about several new initiatives underway.  In 2012, we plan to undertake new projects and activities designed to further help the children and families served by the CDS Partnership.  In February, CDS will host its inaugural ¡Salud! Hispanic Healthcare Awareness Day.  Then, on May 11, the Northwestern Mutual Fun Fest benefiting CDS will be held at Fluor Field.  Already, the Fun Fest planning committee is hard at work making sure that this year’s Fun Fest – to celebrate our successes and raise money for programs - is the best ever.

We continue to make improvements to the CDS facility designed to enhance families’ experience when they visit.  For instance, in the coming months, we plan to start adding new parent resources in our library collection as well as additional computers for family use in the upstairs media center.  We also hope to begin more painting carpet replacement later in the year.

Finally, CDS continues to host regularly occurring “Reaching Potential” Tours.  Even if you are very familiar with CDS, we would love to have you attend one of these insightful programs.  Feedback from attendees has been very positive and almost always includes surprise at the scope of services offered by the CDS Partnership!  Please contact Joy Blue at 331-1314 if you would like to attend.
